Restoration
Opened in 1994 in Humboldt’s restored former City Hall building, the West Tennessee Regional Art Center takes pride in being Tennessee’s only permanent fine arts museum between Nashville and Memphis.
The Caldwells
The Center’s collection was donated by Dr. Benjamin and Gertrude Caldwell for the purpose of cultural education for people of all ages throughout West Tennessee. Oil paintings, sculpture, watercolor paintings, drawings, prints and lithographs, pastels, and silk-screens comprise the Caldwell Collection.
Present
The Downstairs Galleries are the permanent home of The Ewers Collection, donated by Marge and Dr. William Ewers of Nashville. This collection includes such artists as Frederick Remington, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Roman Petrovich Tyrtov (Erte), and Tony Bennett.
